06e - Eighth Rank: Click here to listen. Kicking off with a reality check quote from "The Dark Knight", this mix moves quickly from drum and bass into glitch into grime. The opening remix for "Lord of the Null Lines" provides the first burst of energy. Building onto this beat before falling into distortion is 65's "Goodbye, 2007". The final selection is from the up and coming group Mimosa. Their song "Lullabyte" brings the mix back into a form of cohesion without abandoning the glitch textures to do so.

drop.io Updates

Y'all've likely noticed you can listen to each mix right from the entry. This is in thanks to some nice updates by drop.io, as they now no longer immediately download and cache the songs when the page loads. Instead, it waits until you click play. This saves them bandwidth and saves us--the listeners--having a page load slow as hell because five or more songs are all downloading. Everybody wins. In fact, any subscribers should be able to play directly from their feed. I've gone thru and updated all previous posts to reflect the changes. Enjoy!
